Billy Corgan reveals new solo project, North American tour

Smashing Pumpkins’ frontman Billy Corgan has announced a new solo project and North American tour.

Billy Corgan and The Machines Of God will hit the road will hit the road on the “A Return To Zero” tour which will see the group commemorate both the 30th anniversary of the Pumpkins’ third LP Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness, as well as the 25th anniversary of their double LP ‘Machina’.

The tour will commence in Baltimore on June 7, stopping over in Boston, Toronto, New York, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and more, before wrapping up in Minneapolis on June 29.  Corgan’s touring band includes recently recruited Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Kiki Wong, drummer Jake Hayden, and bassist Kid Tigrrr (aka Jenna Fournier). In addition to the live dates with the Machines of God, Corgan has partnered with Chicago’s Lyric Opera for the world-premiere of A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness—a seven series performance taking place November 21–30.

The Smashing Pumpkins have also revealed the details of the newly remixed and remastered versions of Machina/The Machines of God and its companion Machina II/The Friends and Enemies of Modern Music. Corgan’s Highland Park cafe Madame Zuzu’s tea shop will exclusively offer the LPs in an expansive 80-song box set featuring a 48-track Machina and an additional 32 bonus tracks of demos, outtakes, and live performances.
